About this property

The Treehouse at Salcombe Farm is a single timber-clad cabin raised into the birch canopy on a working farm above Salcombe, small, self-contained, and built for two.

A short flight of steps climbs through the trees to the deck, where a bistro table and a scattering of wicker chairs sit right among the leaves, the wooden structure just visible below through the branches.

One warm room, wood-panelled throughout

Inside is a single open room lined floor to ceiling in timber: a rustic wooden bed with a hand-carved LOVE sign above the headboard, a compact kitchen shelf hung with mugs and a kettle, and a small dining table with blue upholstered chairs beside the glass door to the deck. The stone-carved sink in the en-suite bathroom is cut from a single block, and an outdoor shower is fitted against the cabin's timber-clad wall for rinsing off after a day on the beach.

The deck among the birches

Breakfast happens on the deck itself: a bistro table laid with pastries, blueberries and fresh bread, wicker chairs turned into the tree canopy, and a second small table further along under the leaves where the trees briefly open onto a wider view.

Salcombe just down the hill

Horsecombe Farm sits within Salcombe's own boundary, and the harbourfront, lifeboat station and estuary moorings give a good sense of the town waiting below the farm, boats resting on the sandbar at low tide.

A quiet retreat for two

This is built for a couple wanting somewhere small and self-contained rather than a full house: one room, one bed, a wood-fired feel to the whole cabin, and a deck in the trees, with Salcombe itself close enough for whenever you want company again.

Guests consistently mention

Positive comments outnumbered critical ones in this sample, but the praise was spread across many things rather than concentrated on one, so no single theme stands out.

Worth knowing before you book

  • Views on service are divided, with criticism slightly ahead — unusual locally, where this theme normally runs clearly positive.

Raised in 6 of 20 written reviews. Tone: Mixed

Themes are counted mechanically from the written reviews in our sample, then described in our own words. A theme missing from either column simply did not recur often enough to report — it is not a verdict either way.
