Wellies & Waves is run by the owners from Higher Barn, a row of stone cottages set around a paved courtyard garden with potted plants.

A vaulted living room beneath skylights

The open-plan living and dining room has a vaulted, beamed ceiling with skylights bringing in plenty of daylight. The kitchen is fitted with navy cabinetry, wood countertops and a red retro fridge, a distinctive colour combination running through the whole space.

A bright bedroom with reclaimed wood

The bedroom is bright and simply furnished, white furniture and fresh flowers finishing the room. The bathroom is panelled in reclaimed wood, with a round mirror, bird print artwork and a shower area finished in pink herringbone tiling and brass fittings, table condiments and a lamp set out on the bedside table.

Stone steps lead up through a terraced garden, a ceramic chiminea and olive trees set among the potted plants on the patio, the courtyard opening out beyond the cottages.

Paddleboarding on the river

Paddleboarders work a calm, tree-lined river, wing foiling continues further out to sea, and dramatic coastal cliffs rise beside a golf course, a tennis court set nearby in rolling green countryside.
